Dr. L. Ananthakrishnan was born in 1939. He had his medical education at the Madras Medical College in Chennai, graduating in 1964, and then completed his masters degree in General surgery in 1968 form the same college. He then joined the teaching staff of the Government General Hospital and the Madras Medical College in 1968 and served till 1995. He has a vast exposure of general surgery for twenty seven years. He has taught many batches of undergraduate and post graduate students in this period. He also held the post of Professor of Surgery at the Ragas Dental College, Chennai.
His areas of expertise are gasterointestinal surgery and rectal surgery in particular. He relishes the challenge of Recurrent Fistula in ano.
